How to take care of VUUVEN textiles

If properly taken care of, handwoven linen fabric is a soft and submissive fabric with a low coefficient of elasticity and high thermoregulation levels. Thanks to the thermoregulation, linen is especially suitable for everyday use both in clothing and interior and home textiles. However, when the linen fabric is just removed from the loom, it is quite hard and unruly. Therefore, in order to get the fabric soft, pleasant, and usable, it is washed and softened several times.

When washing and softening VUUVEN textile products, we use products that do not contain fragrances, allergens and are environmentally friendly. Each VUUVEN textile is created by hand, weaving on a traditional wooden looms, and like any handicraft, properly and gently taken cared for, the hand-woven fabric is really durable.

HAND-WOVEN TEXTILES LIKE:
We recommend washing VUUVEN textiles by hand by letting the fabric freely flow in the water. After washing gently squeeze water out of your fabric – be gentle! Don’t wring the fabric too hard. Iron it, when it's a little damp, so the fabric will become elastic and pleasant to the touch. When washing at the dry cleaners, warn about the composition of the fabric, and that it is a hand-woven textile, so a material that deserves to be treated more gently than industrial woven fabrics.
100% linen products can be machine washed in gentle or cold water regimes. Linen fabrics like to be alone in the washing machine. In a full washing machine, the linen fabric can "break" the fiber in difficult-to-iron fold lines.

HAND-WOVEN TEXTILES DON'T LIKE:
Washing machine spin cycles.
To be washed in warm or hot water and in moderate conditions.
To be dried on radiators or heaters.

VUUVEN SUGGESTS:
Use a softener when washing our textile products.
If you do so, after a while, you will notice that with each wash the fabric becomes softer and more pleasant.
